• Subjects peer-to-peer car sharing programs to a 6% tax on gross proceeds from vehicle sharing for terms of 30 days or less, and to 7% Mississippi sales tax on car sharing activities.

• Requires peer-to-peer car sharing programs to verify driver's licenses, maintain 3-year records of vehicle usage and fees, verify vehicles have no unrepaired safety recalls, and disclose insurance coverage limitations and indemnification rights to vehicle owners and drivers.

• Exempts peer-to-peer car sharing programs and shared vehicle owners from vicarious liability and permits motor vehicle insurers to exclude coverage for peer-to-peer car sharing; requires programs to obtain airport authority agreements before facilitating vehicle pickups or drop-offs at airport facilities.
