MS HB1170

Amends Section 25-7-27, Mississippi Code of 1972, to authorize county boards of supervisors to pay additional compensation to marshals and constables when one or more courts in the county are closed for more than 30 consecutive days.

Additional compensation amounts are determined at the discretion of the board of supervisors.

Compensation must be paid using county funds other than revenues from ad valorem taxes, user fees, or other fees received by the county.

Takes effect October 1, 2021.
