MS HB1200

Requires all persons in Mississippi to wear masks or face coverings inside federal, state, county, and municipal government facilities, public places, businesses, educational institutions, and outdoor spaces where 6-foot social distancing is not possible

Mandate runs for 100 consecutive days beginning February 1, 2021, expiring May 12, 2021, or runs concurrently with any federal mask mandate (whichever expires earliest)

Defines "public places" as indoor or outdoor areas accessible to the public with 250+ square feet, including restaurants, retail stores, offices, hospitals, theaters, libraries, and public transportation within the state

Exempts persons with medical or behavioral conditions preventing mask use, children under 2, persons eating or drinking, those giving speeches or performances, and situations where masks are impractical (dental services, equipment operation)

Violations punishable by fine up to $500, imprisonment up to 6 months, or both, enforced by state, county, and local law enforcement agencies
