Removes the previous requirement that municipalities must have a population of 2,000 or more for local law enforcement officers to use radar speed detection equipment on public streets

Maintains the existing restriction that only municipalities with populations exceeding 15,000 can use radar on federally designated highways within their corporate limits

Preserves the authority of college and university campus police to use radar on campuses with more than 2,000 enrolled students

Continues the prohibition on the Mississippi Highway Safety Patrol setting up radar within municipalities with populations over 15,000

Effective date of July 1, 2021
