HB 148 Summary

• Amends Section 57-1-64 of the Mississippi Code to require that at least 3% of Mississippi Development Authority Tourism Advertising Fund costs be used for advertising and promotional materials related to Mississippi State Parks

• The fund receives revenues from the sale of advertising and tourism promotional information through the MDA website and other marketing outlets, as well as agreements with tourism associations

• Fund monies are designated for purchasing Internet advertising and other promotional materials related to Mississippi tourism resources and activities

• Unexpended amounts do not lapse to the State General Fund at fiscal year end, and investment earnings are retained in the fund

• Takes effect July 1, 2021
