Authorizes the governing authorities of the Town of Shannon in Lee County, Mississippi to construct, expand, operate and maintain a natural gas distribution system in specified areas at the intersection of CR 506 and Hwy 145 and at the intersection of CR 630 and CR 643.

Permits gas service to consumers outside the town's corporate limits in the designated areas, with rates capped at no more than twice the rate charged within the town.

Does not exempt the town from obtaining a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity from the Public Service Commission as required under Mississippi Code Section 77-3-1 et seq.

Takes effect upon passage.
