Prohibits an insurance policy covering a political subdivision (local government entity) from paying for any element of loss if the individual can receive payment for the same loss from another insurance policy purchased by the same political subdivision

Applies to both bodily injury/death coverage and property damage coverage under uninsured motorist provisions

Prevents double recovery where one political subdivision has purchased multiple insurance policies that could cover the same loss from the same occurrence

Only applies when the other insurance policy has fully compensated or will fully compensate the individual for that specific element of loss

Effective date: July 1, 2021
