Allows governing authorities of code-charter municipalities to delegate personnel powers (firing, demoting, disciplining, and suspending employees with or without pay) to the mayor, department heads, or chief administrative officer

Requires a two-thirds (2/3) vote of the mayor and board of aldermen to delegate personnel duties, which must be done by ordinance

Prohibits adoption of delegation ordinances within 90 days prior to any regular general municipal election

Grants the board of aldermen the right to review any personnel decisions made after duties have been delegated

Delegation of personnel duties expires at the end of the term of the governing authorities who adopted the ordinance

Effective date: July 1, 2021
