Requires all bridges and culverts built or rebuilt on public roads to conform to design standards in effect at the time of design and extend across the full width of the roadway crown

Mandates bridges on roads with design width greater than 16 feet must be at least 16 feet wide

Requires all bridges to be built with railings or barriers on either side (updated from previous "banisters" requirement)

Exempts public highways within or adjacent to national forests or reforestation projects constructed by federal government, though bridges and culverts must still be at least 12 feet wide

Effective date of July 1, 2021
