Creates a Board of Directors for the Mississippi Department of Human Services consisting of four members appointed by the Governor and three members appointed by the Lieutenant Governor, all requiring Senate confirmation, effective July 1, 2021.

Initial board appointments must be made by August 1, 2021, with staggered terms of two, three, and four years; thereafter, all terms are four years with vacant positions filled for the unexpired portion.

Board members must be qualified electors of Mississippi and shall assist the Executive Director in governing the department, with members receiving per diem and travel expenses as provided in state law.

Board shall annually elect a chair and vice chair from its membership and organize as needed to carry out departmental functions.

This provision establishing the Board of Directors shall expire and be repealed on July 1, 2023.
