Amends Section 47-5-931 of Mississippi Code to prohibit boards of supervisors from contracting with private entities to operate regional correctional facilities.

Bars county employees and contract employees who have worked for a private correctional facility within the past five years from exercising any authority over, or having any personal or financial interest in, regional correctional facilities.

Applies to current and former employees of private correctional facilities, with the five-year restriction measured from the time of their employment.

Takes effect July 1, 2021.
