Expands training options for School Resource Officers (SROs) funded through the Mississippi Community Oriented Policing Services in Schools (MCOPS) grant program

Allows SROs to attend any law enforcement academy accredited by the Mississippi Board on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Training, rather than only the Mississippi Law Enforcement Officers' Training Academy

Requires the chosen academy to employ one or more trainers certified to teach school resource officer and active shooter response courses

Maintains the existing $1,200 maximum reimbursement per person for training, per diem, travel, and lodging costs

Effective date of July 1, 2021
