Recognizes his successful career owning and operating multiple car dealerships in Memphis, Millington, Tennessee, and Olive Branch, Mississippi

Commends his extensive philanthropy through the Homer Skelton Charitable Foundation, to which he donated 100% of his dealership salary for years, supporting churches, schools, and community organizations in Memphis and DeSoto County, Mississippi

Notes specific charitable contributions including coats, shoes, and bicycles for children in need; equipping the DeSoto County Schools Career Tech Center; helping build the "Field of Dreams" baseball field for handicapped children at Snowden Grove; and donating Family Life Centers to two Baptist churches

Expresses deepest sympathy to his wife Catherine, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren upon his passing
