Commends Reverend Robert L. Cook upon his retirement on February 28, 2021, as Deputy Executive Director of the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks after a distinguished career in state service.

Recognizes Cook as the highest ranking African American in a state natural resource agency in the country and notes his history of being the first African American to hold multiple senior management positions across various state agencies.

Acknowledges Cook's extensive professional background including roles as criminal investigator for the State Attorney General's Office, Director of State Capitol Police, Inspector General for the Mississippi Department of Human Services, and various administrative positions.

Highlights Cook's current and past civic involvement including service as Senior Pastor of Seven Springs United Methodist Church, chair of the Jackson State University Tiger Fund, and memberships on multiple state boards and commissions.

Directs that copies of the resolution be provided to Reverend Cook and members of the Capitol Press Corps.
