Creates the Mississippi Civil Rights Act establishing freedom from discrimination based on race, color, religion, national origin, immigrant status, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, or familial status as a civil right

Protects against discrimination in employment, public accommodations, housing and property transactions, credit and contracts, and educational institutions

Applies to employers with 9 or more employees working 20 or more calendar weeks; excludes small lodging establishments with 5 or fewer rooms, private clubs, and houses of worship from public accommodation requirements

Allows individuals to file civil lawsuits seeking injunctions, compensatory and punitive damages, back pay (limited to 2 years prior to filing), litigation costs, and attorney's fees

Exempts religious organizations from employment discrimination provisions when hiring for work connected to religious activities
