Secretary of State must adopt and publish testing standards that meet or exceed federal voluntary standards set by the United States Election Assistance Commission.

All OMR (Optical Mark Recognition) voting equipment and systems that tabulate votes must be certified by the United States Election Assistance Commission or designated federal authority.

All DRE (Direct Recording Electronic) units must be certified by the United States Election Assistance Commission or designated federal authority as meeting or exceeding voluntary voting system standards.

Effective date is July 1, 2021.
