State Department of Health shall issue a certificate of need to Panola Medical Center in Batesville for acquisition, conversion and operation of 25 adult psychiatric beds in its existing Panola County facility, exempt from normal certificate of need review process.

Panola Medical Center's exemption from certificate of need review is valid for two years from the act's effective date; exemption expires if the 25 adult psychiatric beds are not operational within that two-year period.

Applicant must agree to operate the converted psychiatric beds for not less than five years or the beds shall be de-licensed; no restrictions on Medicaid participation for these beds.

State Department of Health shall issue certificate of need to North Mississippi Medical Center (NMMC) in Lee County for 19 adolescent psychiatric beds with no Medicaid restrictions; exemption from standard review process applies, with operational deadline of July 1, 2023.

North Mississippi Medical Center in Lee County authorized to convert 14 acute care beds to geriatric psychiatric care beds via certificate of need.
