MS SB2150

Amends Mississippi Code Section 37-11-19 to establish liability for students and parents who fail to return school-issued textbooks, e-books, iPads, tablets, laptops, or other digital mobile devices by the school's set return date.

Makes students and their parents, guardians, or persons in loco parentis liable for the full replacement cost of any unreturned loaned item.

Allows schools to withhold student transcripts, academic information, and physical diplomas until the full amount owed for unreturned devices or textbooks is paid in full.

Takes effect July 1, 2021.
