Allows adopted persons to obtain a certified copy of their original birth certificate once 18 years have passed since the revised birth certificate was issued following adoption

Original birth certificates obtained under this provision must be clearly marked "cancelled and revised"

Preserves birth parents' ability to file affidavits authorizing or prohibiting release of identifying information, but such prohibitions do not affect an adoptee's right to obtain their cancelled original birth certificate after the 18-year period

Applies to adoptions in Mississippi and amends existing adoption records confidentiality provisions

Effective date: July 1, 2021
