Expands Mississippi's weapons possession prohibition to include individuals convicted of misdemeanors who received enhanced sentences under hate crime statutes (Sections 99-19-301 through 99-19-307)

Prohibited weapons include firearms, bowie knives, dirk knives, butcher knives, switchblade knives, metallic knuckles, blackjacks, and firearm silencers

Violation constitutes a felony punishable by up to $5,000 fine, 1-10 years imprisonment, or both

Creates pathway for misdemeanants sentenced under hate crime provisions to apply to circuit court for certificate of rehabilitation to restore weapon possession rights

Effective date of July 1, 2021
