Requires election officials to test each DRE (Direct Recording Electronic) unit for printing capability on or before the second day before any election to ensure units correctly print votes cast for all offices and questions.

Mandates that poll managers ensure each DRE unit prints a record of every elector's vote, including incomplete ballots, after each elector leaves a voting booth.

Requires the printed record of each elector's vote to be included in materials placed in the ballot box and retained at the designated location as provided by law.

Maintains existing requirement that at least 75% of available DRE units be used in primary and general elections, and at least one-third in other elections where DRE units are used.

Takes effect July 1, 2021.
