MS SB2367

Amends Section 47-7-3 of the Mississippi Code to allow early parole and sentence commutation for nonviolent offenders with three (3) years or less of sentence remaining to serve.

Eligibility is conditioned on the offender participating in and successfully completing one (1) year of drug court post-release.

Excludes offenders convicted of crimes of violence under Section 97-3-2, sex crimes, or other crimes that specifically prohibit parole release.

Takes effect July 1, 2021.
