Amends Section 73-54-23 of Mississippi Code to authorize the Board of Examiners for Social Workers and Marriage and Family Therapists to issue temporary licenses to out-of-state licensees.

Temporary license applicants must have been licensed or certified for at least one year in another state with equivalent requirements and pass the applicable national examination (ASWB for social workers or national examination for marriage and family therapists).

Temporary licensees are restricted to practicing in nonprofit health or family counseling facilities only.

Temporary licenses are issued within sixty days of application and remain valid for up to 365 days while the regular license application is processed.

Insurance companies must reimburse providers based on the temporary license and may bill back reimbursements if the application is ultimately denied; act takes effect July 1, 2021.
