Requires all applicants for Mississippi home inspector licenses and license renewals to undergo fingerprint-based criminal history checks through both the Mississippi central criminal database and the FBI criminal history database, effective July 1, 2021

Prohibits issuing a home inspector license to anyone who has had their license revoked in any jurisdiction within the previous five years, or who has been convicted of a felony involving fraud, dishonesty, breach of trust, or money laundering

Designates criminal history records obtained through background checks as confidential and exempt from the Mississippi Public Records Act, restricted to commission use only for evaluating licensure eligibility

Allows applicants holding multiple licenses under the same commission to pay for only one background check per calendar year

Adds passing the background investigation as a new qualification requirement for home inspector licensure, alongside existing requirements of being at least 21 years old, completing 60 hours of approved coursework, and maintaining liability insurance
