Requires all public and charter schools in Mississippi to teach courses in U.S. history, civics, the U.S. Constitution, and Mississippi state government before students complete twelfth grade

Courses must focus on fostering ideals of political and economic democracy in America and increasing knowledge of federal and state government organization

Mandates emphasis on federalism, separation of powers, and the Bill of Rights

Directs the State Department of Education to prescribe the courses of study, basic requirements, and academic standards

Effective date of July 1, 2021
