Requires school attendance officers to attend and complete comprehensive legal training on the Individuals with Disabilities in Education Act (IDEA) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 through the Office of Special Education of the Mississippi Department of Education.

Training must enable school attendance officers to understand the legal rights of children with disabilities under IDEA or Section 504.

Training shall educate school attendance officers on proper policies, procedures, and requirements for reporting children with potential disabilities to school districts to ensure compliance with federal "child find" obligations.

Training attendance is required beginning with the first training seminar after a school attendance officer is employed.

Effective date is July 1, 2021.
