• Mandates parents check the acknowledgment box and sign the statement at the start of each academic school year during enrollment.

• Requires schools to communicate the acknowledgment requirement and statement to parents if a child transfers from another school district and the acknowledgment was not previously completed.

• Takes effect July 1, 2021.
