Department of Health may enter into agreements with private health care entities to create a statewide electronic health information exchange to allow secure sharing of patient information and improve care quality and coordination

Department of Health shall establish a program providing startup cost funding to health care entities participating in the exchange, with grants capped at $5,000 per entity

Application process for funding shall be developed in cooperation with health care associations and reviewed on a rolling, first-come, first-served basis with funds distributed evenly across the state's congressional districts

Participating health care associations must provide matching nonstate funds equal to each dollar of state General Fund appropriations to the program

Act takes effect July 1, 2021
