Amends Section 31-7-1 of the Mississippi Code to modify the definition of "agency" under the Public Purchasing Law

Excludes academic medical centers and health services schools from the definition of "agency" for purchases of clinical commodities used in disease diagnosis, treatment, or prevention, and for medical devices, biologics, drugs, and radiation-emitting devices as defined by the FDA

Limits the exclusion to apply only to Section 31-15(1), meaning academic medical centers and health services schools remain subject to other provisions of the Public Purchasing Law

Takes effect July 1, 2021
