Senate Bill 2945 Summary

• Appropriates $954,150.00 from the State Department of Agriculture and Commerce special fund for the Dixie National Livestock Show at the State Fairgrounds in Jackson for fiscal year 2022 (July 1, 2021 - June 30, 2022).

• Appropriates $54,066.00 for junior livestock roundup shows; $18,565.00 for livestock premiums at the State Fair; and $12,644.00 for county livestock shows, with a maximum of $1,000.00 per county per year.

• Appropriates $54,585.00 for five district livestock shows and $7,066.00 for five state dairy shows, with at least 75% of these funds reserved for 4-H Club members and Smith-Hughes School students.

• Appropriates $11,884.00 for Mississippi High School Rodeo winners attending national finals and $42,730.00 for the NCHA Eastern National Championship.

• Allows remaining funds between different show categories to be transferred at the end of the fiscal year, except county shows remain capped at $1,000.00 maximum.
