Extends the deepest sympathy of the Mississippi Legislature to the family of William C. "W.C." Gorden, former Jackson State University Hall of Fame football coach, who passed away on October 23, 2020, at age 90

Recognizes Gorden as the winningest coach in Jackson State football history with a 119-47-5 overall record, including 8 SWAC Championships, 9 NCAA FCS playoff appearances, and a Black College Football National Championship over 15 seasons

Notes his induction into the SWAC Hall of Fame (1994), Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame (1997), College Football Hall of Fame (2008), and Black College Football Hall of Fame (2015)

Acknowledges his extensive coaching career beginning in 1957 at Eva Gordon High School in Magnolia, then Temple High School in Vicksburg, before joining Jackson State in 1971 and serving as head football coach from 1977-1991

Directs the resolution be presented to his surviving family, forwarded to Jackson State University's President and the Board of Trustees of State Institutions of Higher Learning
