Commends Lafayette High School "Lady Commodores" Girls Soccer Team and Head Coach Melinda Scruggs for winning their third consecutive Mississippi High School Activities Association Class 5A State Championship.

Team defeated East Central 6-2 on February 6, 2021, in the championship match at Madison Central High School with a record of 17-2.

Lafayette has made four State Championship appearances since 2015 and won four State Championships overall, outscoring playoff opponents 21-3 in the postseason.

Lists 16-member roster including players Anna Kate Trost, Julia Perkins, Caroline Perkins, and others, along with Head Coach Melinda Scruggs and assistant coaches Cullen Pollard and Madi Sherer.

Resolution to be presented to Head Coach Melinda Scruggs and Principal Dr. Glenn Kitchens, forwarded to Lafayette County Board of Education and distributed to Capitol Press Corps.
