Recognizes Dr. Felecia M. Nave as the first female and 20th President of Alcorn State University, inaugurated on April 16, 2021

Dr. Nave is a second-generation Alcornite who graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry from Alcorn in 1996 and holds a Doctorate in Engineering from the University of Toledo

Previously served as Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs at North Carolina Central University and held various roles at Prairie View A&M University from 2003-2018

Alcorn State University is the nation's oldest public land-grant Historically Black College/University, with a 1,700-acre campus in Lorman and branch locations in Natchez and Vicksburg

Resolution directs presentation to Dr. Nave and the Board of Trustees of State Institutions of Higher Learning
