Establishes a velvet hunting season for deer running from September 10-20, lasting between 3-5 consecutive days, separate from the regular deer hunting season

Permits only bow and arrow or crossbow hunting during velvet season on private lands and designated Wildlife Management Areas

Requires hunters to harvest only bucks meeting the antler criteria for their respective deer management unit, with mandatory reporting of all harvested animals

Directs the Mississippi Commission on Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks to create a special hunting permit for velvet season and set the permit cost

Effective date of July 1, 2022
