Mississippi Transportation Commission and Department of Transportation must utilize all funds available to the state through the federal Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act

Brings forward Mississippi's existing four-lane highway program statute (Section 65-3-97) for possible amendment, which establishes construction priorities for connecting various areas of the state with interstate and primary highways

The existing statute requires the Transportation Commission to dedicate not less than $200,000,000 annually in state and/or federal funds to the four-lane highway program

Highway construction priorities are established through a needs-based analysis considering factors such as year of need, traffic volume, economic development, safety, and hurricane evacuation routes

Effective date of July 1, 2022
