Prohibits all Mississippi governmental entities from seeking or obtaining reverse-location court orders or reverse-keyword court orders, which compel disclosure of information identifying unnamed persons based on their geographic location or internet searches

Bans government entities from making informal requests for the same location or keyword search data, and prohibits courts from issuing such orders

Prevents government entities from circumventing the law by seeking assistance from federal agencies or other states to obtain prohibited information

Excludes any information obtained in violation of this act from being admissible as evidence in any criminal, civil, or administrative proceeding

Creates a private right of action allowing affected individuals to sue for $1,000 per violation or actual damages (whichever is greater), plus punitive damages, injunctive relief, and attorney's fees

Effective date: July 1, 2022
