Replaces the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) accreditation requirement with accreditation from a national accreditor for educator preparation programs (EPP) approved by the State Board of Education

Expands the Teach Mississippi Institute (TMI) supervised internship from one semester/three hours to two semesters/six hours, completed while employed as a full-time teacher intern in a local school district

Allows TMI courses to be offered at any State Board of Education-approved EPP with an approved TMI program, rather than limiting to four pilot locations across Mississippi Supreme Court districts

Requires both the EPP and the employing school district to monitor intern teacher performance during the internship period

Increases the transcript requirement for Standard License-Nontraditional Route applicants from 12 semester hours to 15 semester hours in the internship program, effective July 1, 2022
