Brings forward seven existing Mississippi Code sections (27-19-17, 27-19-18, 27-19-19, 27-19-31, 27-19-33, 27-19-63, and 27-19-66.1) related to trailer license plate regulations for possible future amendment without making substantive changes

Current law imposes a $10 annual highway privilege tax on trailers, semitrailers, house trailers, travel trailers, and rental trailers used on Mississippi highways

Interstate commerce trailers and semitrailers are subject to a $65 one-time highway privilege tax, with license tags valid for the duration of ownership and bearing no expiration date

Corporations or legal entities owning trailer fleets may register trailers for up to five years, with a $100 filing fee required for fleet registration applications

Effective date set for July 1, 2022
