Extends the $6,000 annual salary supplement to licensed employees of districts of innovation or schools of innovation who hold national certifications from qualifying organizations in their area of expertise.

Requires school districts that reassign a nationally certified employee eligible for the salary supplement to a position that no longer qualifies for the supplement to provide a local supplement to mitigate the loss of the state supplement.

Modifies Section 37-179-3 to clarify that districts of innovation may employ teachers on alternative compensation schedules, including those eligible for the annual salary supplement under Section 37-19-7(2)(a).

Applies to employees with certifications from the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards, National Board for Certification of School Nurses, National Board of Certified Counselors, American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, and Academic Language Therapy Association.

Effective July 1, 2022.
