Requires any person employed by a school board as a security guard, school resource officer, or in any position with peace officer powers to receive minimum basic law enforcement training as determined by the Board on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Training and the State Board of Education.

Prohibits persons in these positions from exercising peace officer powers on school property until they have completed the required training.

Authorizes school boards to employ security personnel and designate them as peace officers upon taking an oath and making a bond as required of county constables.

Allows school boards to enter into interlocal agreements with other law enforcement entities for equipment or traffic control duties, but does not relieve local police or sheriff's departments of their duty to enforce laws off school property.

Takes effect July 1, 2022.
