Amends Section 37-3-82 to allow any certified and accredited law enforcement training academy in Mississippi approved by the Board on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Training to provide Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training (ALERRT) Program training, not just the Mississippi Law Enforcement Officers' Training Academy.

Requires School Resource Officers funded through the Mississippi Community Oriented Policing Services in Schools (MCOPS) grant program to complete ALERRT training at an approved academy, with training costs reimbursed up to $1,200 per person from the MCOPS program.

Maintains existing MCOPS requirements including $10,000 minimum state contribution per officer position matched 50/50 with local funds and requirement that officers devote at least 75% of time to school-related duties.

Brings forward Section 37-7-321 regarding school board employment of security personnel and peace officers, including requirement for basic law enforcement training within two years of employment.

Takes effect July 1, 2022.
