Amends Section 49-15-79 to prohibit use of purse seines within one mile of Cat Island and Jackson County shorelines in Mississippi.

Repeals Section 49-15-35, which allowed the commission to adopt ordinances prohibiting menhaden taking within two miles of county coastlines or municipal boundaries upon request.

Brings forward Section 49-15-71 regarding redfish regulations, including prohibition on vessels using purse seines from carrying redfish and establishes minimum legal size requirements with four-year review cycles beginning July 1, 1998.

Brings forward Section 49-15-78 to prohibit gill nets, trammel nets, entanglement nets, and similar devices within one-half mile of shorelines, and haul seine nets within one-half mile of Cat Island shoreline.

Effective date is July 1, 2022.
