Establishes that a right of first refusal on real property automatically terminates when the grantee (the person holding the right) dies

Creates an exception allowing the right to pass to heirs and assigns only if the original contract or conveyance document explicitly states this in unambiguous language

Applies to rights of first refusal granted through contractual agreements or any written instrument of conveyance

Would be codified in Chapter 1, Title 89 of the Mississippi Code of 1972

Effective date of July 1, 2022
