Allows motor vehicle owners to designate a sole beneficiary on the vehicle title who will automatically receive ownership upon the owner's death, bypassing the probate process

Beneficiary designations are revocable and can be changed at any time without the beneficiary's consent by submitting a new title application; a will cannot override the designation

For jointly owned vehicles with right of survivorship, all joint owners must agree to make, change, or revoke a beneficiary designation; the last surviving owner may change the designation

Designated beneficiaries must apply for title within 180 days of the owner's death and provide proof of death; the transfer is not a taxable event regardless of relationship to the deceased

During the owner's lifetime, the designation creates no legal interest for the beneficiary and does not affect the owner's rights or creditors' claims against the vehicle
