Authorizes the City of Hernando, Mississippi to levy an additional sales tax of up to 2% on gross proceeds from restaurant sales, including food trucks, cafes, convenience stores, and similar establishments selling prepared food

Requires a public election where at least 60% of voters must approve the tax before it can be implemented; election notice must be published for three consecutive weeks prior to the vote

Tax revenue must be deposited in a special fund separate from general city funds and used exclusively to promote tourism, parks, and recreation within the city

Mississippi Department of Revenue will collect the tax and retain 3% for administrative costs, remitting the remainder to the city by the 15th of each month following collection

The act is set to be repealed on July 1, 2026
