The church's parking lot was damaged when it served as a staging area for heavy equipment during emergency repairs after a 50-foot section of Highway 26 collapsed into a 30-foot chasm on August 30, 2021, due to hurricane-related flooding

Repairs may be completed using county employees and equipment or through third-party contractors

The repair is explicitly intended to restore the parking lot to its original condition, not to provide a benefit to the church

Before any repairs can begin, the church must provide documentation that it has filed a claim under the Mississippi Tort Claims Act
