Appropriates $375,000.00 from the State General Fund to the Mississippi State Department of Health for fiscal year 2023 (July 1, 2022 - June 30, 2023)

Funds shall be provided as a grant to the Southern Health Commission, Inc., a health and wellness center in Washington County

Up to $50,000.00 of the grant may be used for evaluation services contracted with a state institution of higher learning, preferably a Historically Black College or University (HBCU) in the Mississippi Delta

Southern Health Commission's stated goals include providing comprehensive clinical services, establishing a place for physicians and pharmacists to experience wellness, and helping community members achieve healthy lifestyles

Act takes effect July 1, 2022
