Amends Section 63-3-519 of Mississippi Code to revise population thresholds for municipal law enforcement use of radar speed detection equipment on public streets.

Municipal officers in municipalities with populations of 2,000 or more according to the latest or previous federal census may use radar equipment, with a floor of 1,500 minimum population from the latest census.

College and university campus police forces with more than 2,000 enrolled students may use radar equipment within campus confines.

Municipal law enforcement in municipalities exceeding 15,000 population per latest federal census may use radar on federally designated highways within corporate limits.

Effective date: July 1, 2022.
