Increases Mississippi State Board of Medical Licensure from nine (9) physicians to nine (9) physicians and three (3) consumer members, effective July 1, 2023.

Consumer members must not have ever been licensed in any health care field and cannot be employed by the University of Mississippi Medical Center, Mississippi State Medical Association, or other health care organizations.

Consumer members may discuss and vote on board matters and nominate candidates for office, but cannot hold elected board positions.

Increases quorum requirement from five (5) members to seven (7) members, with at least five (5) required to be physicians.

Expands executive committee from three (3) to four (4) members (three physicians and one consumer), with the consumer member unable to serve as chairman.
