Mississippi Department of Employment Security must prioritize fraud prevention and detection for unemployment insurance benefits and tax collection.

Executive director must adopt policies requiring employers to notify the department within 10 business days when applicants refuse suitable work offers.

Department authorized to use technological resources including the Integrity Data Hub and National Directory of New Hires to verify newly hired employees and detect fraudulent applications.

All state agencies and political subdivisions must promptly respond to department requests for information and share data needed to prevent fraud and recover improperly paid benefits or withheld taxes.

Act takes effect January 1, 2023.
